Six-Pack of Peaks Challenge

6 Peaks, 82 Miles, 27,000’ Vertical

This summer the KTS team will take on the Six-Pack of Peaks Challenge! 6 Peaks, 82 Miles, Over 27,000' of Vertical Gain and One Epic Challenge to Conquer Diabetes!

The Six-Pack of Peaks Challenge was created a few years ago to support Big City Mountaineers – an awesome non-profit organization whose mission is to transform the lives of under-served urban youth through wilderness mentoring expeditions that instill critical life skills. Over the years many KTS climbs have been joined by folks climbing to support BCM and many KTS team members have climbed to support BCM. We are proud to have KTS take up the Six-Pack of Peaks Challenge to Conquer Diabetes.

We’ll kick off the Challenge in July and over the next few weeks will climb six great SoCal peaks: Mt Wilson (5,710’, 14 miles, 4,200’ vertical); Cucamonga Peak (8859’, 11.6 miles, 4,300’ vertical); San Bernardino Peak 10,649’, 16.5 miles, 4,702’ vertical); San Bernardino Peak 10,649’, 16.5 miles, 4,702’ vertical); Mt. San Antonio (Mt. Baldy) (10,068’,10.2 miles, 3,900’ vertical);
Mt. San Jacinto (10,834’, 11.4 miles, 4,689’ vertical) and San Gorgonio (11,503’, 17.3 miles, 5,840’ vertical).

Please follow us on facebook and instagram, and help us to reach our goal to Conquer Diabetes. Every dollar donated will go to support Phase II Clinical Trials testing the ability of a generic vaccine BCG to reverse advanced Type 1 Diabetes. We appreciate every dollar donated and can’t thank you enough for helping to find a cure for this tough disease.

On August 27, 2016, we completed the Six Pack of Peaks Challenge with Mountain Music For a Cure Ii and we climbed to #SENDITFORMURPH.   We were joined on Mt. Baldy by many of those who also reached the summit under bluebird sky to raise our KTS flags for Murph.  We also were joined by a butterfly who landed on a prayer flag with the following quote:

  "Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go. " T. S. Eliot
